Specialization leads to success
by: Ted

When I hired new agents, I explained to them that we are going to specialize in one product and in one targfet market to start making money, so that we were able to pay the bills.

Once you build a client base, them you expand into other markets like business insurance, estate planning, etc.

The best example I always used, was to explain to my new agents how companies like McDonalds, KFC, Burger king became so successful. They started out wih one product, and once they had cashflow and a customer base, they then expanded.

Information overload when starting out in the insurance business is a sure plan for failure. You can't be everything to everybody.

Pick a market and a product and run with it. You will gain confidence and expereience.
